Pick any two emoji and SymbolMix cooks them into a single sticker you can copy straight into a chat. Works on every phone and computer, no Gboard needed.
Tap to fill the first slot, or tap a slot for all emoji:
Name it, caption it
AI writes a name, a short description and three captions for 💀 + 👻.
Want a fully redrawn version? The AI painter merges the two into a new character (a few per hour).
How the mixer cooks a mashup
Step through the recipe on your current pair: skull + ghost. Change the pair above and this updates.
Four recipes, one rule each
Fuse is the Emoji Kitchen look: eyes from the first face, mouth from the second, or a whole expression pressed onto an object.
Dye repaints the second emoji in the first one’s colours. A frog in pizza tones, a ghost dressed as a strawberry.
Topper pins the first emoji onto the second like a badge, handy for “cat + party” reactions.
Split stitches half of each on a diagonal, for when you honestly can’t decide between 😭 and 😂.
Mixes are drawn from the open-source Twemoji set, so they look the same on every device and export as crisp vector SVG.
How to mix emojis in three taps
- Pick two. Tap a slot to search all emoji, or tap the quick row to fill the first and then the second slot.
- Choose a recipe. Fuse, Dye, Topper or Split. The sticker redraws instantly.
- Send it. Copy sticker pastes into WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, Slack and Discord; PNG and SVG save a file; Share opens your phone’s share sheet.
Under the mixer, More mixes previews your first emoji fused with 18 popular partners, so you can browse combinations the way you would in an emoji kitchen browser. Every mix gets its own link (look at the address bar), so you can send the recipe instead of the image. Your last twelve mixes stay in this browser for quick reuse.
Want the real Emoji Kitchen?
Google’s version lives in the Gboard keyboard on Android and in Google Search. Our guides cover how to use Emoji Kitchen (and why you might not have it) step by step and the options for Emoji Kitchen on iPhone. Curious why some emoji already “combine” on their own, like 👩🚀? That’s a zero-width joiner sequence.
Questions
Is this the same as Google’s Emoji Kitchen?
No. Emoji Kitchen is Google’s feature inside Gboard and Google Search, with hand-drawn stickers for pairs its artists have designed. SymbolMix is an independent web mixer: it builds a mashup for any two of 1,800+ emoji on the spot, in your browser, on any phone or computer.
Can I mix any two emoji?
Yes. Faces, animals, food, objects, symbols and flags all work. Two smiley faces give the cleanest Fuse result, because the mixer can swap eyes and mouths between them. For objects, try the Dye or Topper recipe.
How do I send a mashup in WhatsApp, iMessage or Discord?
Press Copy sticker and paste it into the chat. If your browser doesn’t allow copying images, press PNG to save it and send it from your photos. On phones, Share opens your share sheet with the image attached.
Is SymbolMix free? Do I need an account?
It is free with no sign-up. The mixer runs entirely in your browser. The optional AI writer and AI painter have hourly limits so the service stays free for everyone.
Why don’t I have Emoji Kitchen on my phone?
Google’s Emoji Kitchen only lives in the Gboard keyboard on Android and in Google Search. If you use Samsung Keyboard, an iPhone, or an app that doesn’t accept stickers, you won’t see it. SymbolMix works in any browser, so you can mix emoji on any phone.
How many emoji combinations are possible?
SymbolMix has 1,856 emoji, so there are about 3.4 million ordered pairs (A + B differs from B + A), and each can be cooked with four recipes. Google’s Emoji Kitchen covers only the pairs its artists have drawn.
Can I use the mashups commercially?
The emoji artwork comes from Twemoji, licensed CC-BY 4.0, so you can reuse mashups (including commercially) as long as you credit “Twemoji by Twitter, Inc. and contributors”. The AI paintings are generated for you to use freely.
Why does my mashup look different from Emoji Kitchen?
Google’s stickers are drawn by illustrators one pair at a time. SymbolMix recombines the actual shapes of open-source emoji with a set rule (the four recipes), so every pair works instantly, but the style is more collage than illustration. The AI painter gives you a redrawn take.
