How to use Emoji Kitchen

Emoji Kitchen is Google’s sticker feature that merges two emoji into one drawing. Here’s where to find it, how to send the results, and what to do when it won’t cooperate.

In Gboard on Android

  1. Install or update Gboard from the Google Play Store and set it as your keyboard (Settings › System › Keyboard).
  2. Open a chat app that accepts stickers, such as Google Messages, WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal.
  3. Tap the smiley key on Gboard and choose one emoji. A row of suggested mashups appears above the keyboard.
  4. Pick a second emoji to narrow the row to that exact pair, then tap the sticker to send it.

Recent Gboard versions also have a dedicated Emoji Kitchen tab with a two-slot mixer: tap it in the emoji panel, fill both slots and tap the result.

In Google Search (iPhone, iPad, computer)

  1. Open google.com (or the Google app) and search for emoji kitchen.
  2. Tap Get cooking in the results.
  3. Choose two emoji; the sticker appears next to the equals sign.
  4. Tap the copy icon and paste the image into your chat or document.

When mashups don’t show up

  • The app doesn’t accept images. Gboard only shows stickers where they can be sent. Try in Google Messages to check.
  • The pair hasn’t been drawn. Emoji Kitchen covers a curated set; less common emoji and flags often have no match.
  • Old Gboard. Update the app, then restart the chat.
  • You’re on iPhone. Gboard for iOS doesn’t include Emoji Kitchen; see Emoji Kitchen on iPhone for the options.

Why don’t I see Emoji Kitchen suggestions in Gboard?

Update Gboard from the Play Store, then make sure the app you’re typing in supports stickers or images. In apps without image support, Gboard hides the mashups. Some older Android versions and work profiles also disable it.

Is Emoji Kitchen free?

Yes. It is built into Gboard and Google Search at no cost.

Does every pair of emoji combine in Emoji Kitchen?

No. Only pairs Google’s illustrators have drawn produce a sticker. If nothing appears, that pair hasn’t been designed. The SymbolMix mixer builds a mashup for any pair instead.

Can I use Emoji Kitchen on a computer?

Yes. Search “emoji kitchen” on google.com in a desktop browser and press the “Get cooking” button to open the mixer in your results.
